Second Trimester Essentials

I’ve made it through the second trimester! Only 3 months to go now so I thought I’d share some of the things that made life a little more comfortable for me lately. Overall, the second trimester was a breeze compared to the first. I pretty much feel like a normal human, I’ve just added a bump into the mix!

1. 2 for $10 H&M tanks are one of my everyday essentials. Perfect for layering and comfortable with a stretchy material these are win-win!

2. Quick chopped salads have been a great go to meal as it’s been a struggle to get all my daily veggies in!

3. A new water bottle that’s easy to sip with one hand has been great when I’m out of the house. I’ve been using the Waterlogged app as a way to track my water intake as well. Helps keep me motivated when I’m tired of so much water!

4. With much to my dismay and dedication I have started to get a few stretch marks on my chest, but the belly is still mark free. I’ve been using this oil and love that it’s all natural and leaves my skin feeling moisturized even after 12 hours. They say it’s genetics, not lotions or oils that determine whether you’ll get stretch marks so I have my mother to thank for my new beauty marks!

5. Prunes my friends! The fate of not going as frequently as I should has doomed my bowels. Just eating 2 a day has helped and when I still needed a little something extra, there’s always Metamucil. One of the less fun sides to being pregnant but it could be worse!

All that’s left is to try and enjoy my last few months with my little coconut inside before his big debut in March. I have two wonderful baby showers to look forward to this next month and I can’t wait to see all my friends and family very soon. Happy new year, cheers to an amazing year of memories and looking forward to what 2015 has to offer!

Quick Craft… Give Thanks Banner

The other night I was browsing Pinterest, as I do often when I get bored and I came across this simple banner perfect for spicing up my mantle for November. It literally cost me only $1! It was as easy as printing a large font, cutting letters out, tracing them to glitter paper from Michael’s (buy one get one free sale right now!), cutting those letters out, and taping them to bakers twine. Voila!

Click here for step by step instructions.

This is what the example looked like:

And here’s how mine turned out:

The Next Chapter

20140702-160828-58108497.jpg
Our time in Hawaii is coming to an end. So far it’s been the perfect getaway (minus the fact I’ve had to work a few hours each day). Be sure to check out all our photos on Instagram #trekwiththeTs. We’ve had a blast exploring hidden beaches and discovering new places all to ourselves, eating a little of everything, fooling around on the family farms, and finding ourselves at the beach at least once a day. One day I will live here and the Mr. will be able to call it home once more.

The next chapter of our lives is starting! This weekend is the first wedding of the season for me and we drive to San Diego on Monday to start setting up our home. I can’t wait to do so many things and explore a whole new area of California. Life can’t get much better right now and I’m damn thankful for all the things we’ve been blessed with. Bring it on!

Oh Happy Day!

(Amber Interiors pretty much summed up EXACTLY what we’re planning for the newly decorated Mr. & Mrs. T residence to look like… how perfect! )

Cue the happy dance… we found a home in San Diego! We decided to go the safer route and rent at first. This place is seriously perfect for our needs and great as a place to make our home for the first year. Just 15 minutes from downtown San Diego, and 20 minutes to the beach, it was a major score! It’s a single story 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, 1 loft/office, laundry room, 2 car detached garage, enclosed patio, private front yard, newly updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and all new engineered maple hardwood floors!

A girl can dream while house hunting and this dream came true! Seriously, based on what’s available, pet friendly, and in budget? Slim pickings my friends. We jumped on this home as soon as we toured it. So now the countdown to moving in begins!

2 weeks left of working at the bakery – 3 weeks until we say goodbye to the Bay Area and vacation in AZ – 4 weeks until we spend 10 days in Hawaii – 5 weeks until the first wedding of our season – 6 weeks until we get the keys and move in to our new abode!

So much to look forward to in the next few weeks! Happy Friday!

Cali Turns 1!

I can’t believe she’s a year old! How time flies. We had a small celebration for her, a fancy new shark chew toy, cherry cow ear, doggie donut, and her favorite peanut butter honey icecream for her cake. Spoiled much? We rarely treat her besides a milk bone here and there so she was surely in doggie heaven! Hopefully, we’ll be able to gift her with a priceless present this summer… a yard! Stay tuned for more details on the house hunt!

How is it April already? I can’t believe it’s been three months since my Mr. left! The countdown is in the single digits now and he’ll be home very soon, hooray! With Spring officially here and Summer quickly approaching, I’m starting to feel quite overwhelmed with the ever growing to do list and big things happening in the next two months.

Two weeks ago I was in Palm Springs for our epic #Partyattheparker that turned out brilliantly. Such a cool venue and a dream team to work with. Keep your eyes peeled for a neat feature soon! Last week, I drove over 2,000 miles north to see the whole family. It was my last chance to drive home before we move even farther away, so I took the dog and a road trippin’ we went! I got to spend quality time with my best friends, meet babies for the first time, and celebrate a birthday all in 7 days. It’s always too short but I’m glad I could squeeze it in my schedule.

The next big project is deciding whether to buy or rent in San Diego, and if we buy I really hope it goes smoothly and doesn’t take too long! I’ve been secretly house hunting since January so I know what’s available in our desirable areas. There are certainly some good fits for our needs, fingers crossed we can get all we want within our budget! How pretty is the curb appeal of the picture above? I love the spanish villa style, so dreamy! We will officially be out of our current home in June and are taking some time for ourselves to travel until we have to be in San Diego in July. Arizona and Hawaii are already on the itinerary, I can’t wait!

Things are beginning to pick up with wedding season quickly upon us. I can’t wait to bring together some amazing events, but this summer will be a little crazy since I’ll be traveling back and forth from San Diego and San Francisco for 4 weddings this year. Oh, and did I mention I got a third job? I think I might be crazy! But the opportunity was too good to pass up and it will allow me to maintain some income during our travels and moving this summer. More to come on this later.

I have a few more things coming soon, happy Friday loves!

Valentine’s Day Sweets for One

Since I’ll be celebrating the holiday without my Mr. I thought I still deserved a little somthing for me, myself, and I. Here’s a quick and fun idea for your Valentine’s Day dessert. I simply made brownies from the box in my flower Demarle Flexipan. Just cut the flower into 4 pieces and you get 4 hearts. Easy as that! To add a little something extra, I just made a heart out of cardboard, and sprinkled a little powdered sugar on top to make a heart outline.

I’m planning to spend my Valentine’s evening with a good glass of champagne, Netflix, and the pup by my side. Hope you have a more eventful night than me!

XOXO, MT
